In this session participants will explore strategies designed to raise the level of creative and critical thinking in the classroom. This course is taught by Selcuk Acar, Ph.D., an associate professor of educational psychology at the University of North Texas with a speciality in Creativity and the Gifted Student.

This workshop is designed for attendees who have previously completed the Introduction to Depth & Complexity. A working knowledge of the Prompts/Icons is needed. This session is focused on integration into the teacher's content to create differentiated experiences for all students. Participants will build on previous knowledge and experience, engaging in focused lesson planning and curriculum integration. Attendees will learn how to leverage Depth and Complexity to improve student writing, while creating rubrics that strategically assess that writing. Ample time will be provided to design relevant products and activities that are grade-level and content-specific. This session will satisfy the annual GT Update requirement.
